First-ever One Asenso MisOcc Palaro set this week
The province of Misamis Occidental, under the leadership of
Governor Henry S. Oaminal, is partnering with the Department of Education for
the upcoming conduct of the first-ever One Asenso MisOcc Provincial Athletic
Association PALARO this week.
The PALARO 2024 is scheduled from Feb. 7 to 11 to be hosted
by the Tangub city government.
This aims to bring together the province’s best athletes
from different DepEd divisions.
More than 2,000 individuals composed of athletes, coaches,
technical officials, heads of athletic delegations, division personnel, and
local government officials throughout the province are expected to join the
biggest and the grandest pilot of PALARO 2024.
Governor Oaminal targets to unite MisOcc’s top
athletes and coaches to deliver the most exciting and enjoyable sports event
for Misamisnons.
The development came after Oaminal met with the concerned
agencies and officials for the first ASENSO Provincial Meet Executive Committee
meeting.
Governor Oaminal emphasized that a robust provincial sports
program would not only create top-notch athletes but also inspire the younger
generation to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
Tangub Mayor Ben Canama said they are well-prepared and
ready to host all provincial sports councils, athletes, and coaches—offering
them an unforgettable visit to the city while competing in various sports
events.
The PALARO 2024 will cater to basketball, volleyball,
softball, baseball, football, futsal, sepak takraw, athletics, swimming,
archery, boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, wushu, pencak silat, table tennis,
badminton, chess, arnis, gymnastics, and dance sports competitions.
Medals and cash prizes await the winners of every sports
event, on top of chances to represent the One Asenso MisOcc Team at the
Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association Meet (NMRAA) set to be held in
Camiguin province this coming May. (SN/PGMO)
