The Misamis Occidental provincial
government is highlighting the crucial role of the education sector in
achieving peace and development in the province.
Schools Division Superintendent
in the Division of Misamis Occidental Renaldo Manuel Jr. said the province’s
education department is backing the provincial government’s peace programs as
well as other initiatives that promote law and order pushed under the
administration of Governor Henry S. Oaminal.
Manuel stressed the significant
contributions of educators in achieving various peace endeavors, especially
promoting a culture of peace among students and providing a haven for students
for them to feel safe.
He also assured that the
Department of Misamis Occidental is fully supporting all initiatives advocating
“harmony, prosperity, and peacefulness within our communities.”
“Although the recent bombing
incidents targeting our Governor Henry Oaminal has shaken the peace and order
in our province,” Manuel said.
“It is fortunate that no one was
injured and we are thankful to our almighty father for that. As the
responsibile for the crime remains unidentified, we empathize with the
collective desire of Misamisnons for a swift resolution to such acts of
violence. It is through unity, understanding, and commitment to peace that we
can overcome challenges,” he added.
Manuael lauded the province’s
commitment to hosting school activities that would showcase all the potential
and talents of young Misamisnons.
This, as the first Asenso Misamis
Occidental Provincial Athletic Meet is scheduled to be conducted from Feb. 7 to
11 in Tangub City.
The provincial government will
also hold the Regional Festival of Lights in Northern Mindanao this coming
March and the Northern Mindanao National Athletic Association Meet in May.
The Misamis Occidental is also
prepping for the 2026 Palarong Pambansa (National Games).
Manuel said the DepEd MisOcc will
continue pushing holistic development goals for the students in the province as
he emphasized the need to sustain a peaceful environment for everyone.
“Let us continue to unite in our
pursuit of a harmonious community, let the Misamis Occidental stand shoulder to
shoulder with the Provincial Government's call for peace and resolution to the
recent bombing incident,” he added.
Together, let us ensure that
Misamis Occidental becomes a symbol of tranquility, setting an example for the
rest of the nation,” Manuel urged.(SN/PGMO)
